This is a great breakdown on the various ways heat/cold can enter and exit through a building and home. The biggest point here is that you should get an energy audit of your home to pinpoint these issues. Through the audit, you will find where the biggest problems are so you can plan your projects accordingly. Many utility providers have programs to offset or make the energy audit free.
